With the first half of the season done, it is time for a little bit of reflection.

The season didn't start quite the way we expected it to. A loss at home to the Roughriders, followed by a loss in Winnipeg was definitely not easy to swallow. Ever since I've been in Montreal we have had quick starts. Although it was way too early to panic, it was definitely concerning. Refocusing with an attention to detail, we headed into Hamilton and got our first win of the season. This was the first step back towards self assurance and regaining confidence.

After another close loss at home to Winnipeg, we won four games in a row. Back to back wins against Toronto followed by home wins against Calgary and Hamilton put us at 5-3 heading into BC.

Since I have been apart of the Alouettes (1999), I believe I have only won once in BC. If I knew the reason why, I would let you know. There are factors that seemed to be piled up against us, but there are also these same ones in every stadium across the country. Why does it seem to be different in BC Place Stadium? Maybe the time change, maybe the noise, or maybe the quality of the opponent. I don't know if a psychologist would have the answers but I do know this, in pro sports any team can win on any given night. When will that time come for us in BC? Maybe next year.

The truth of the matter is that it is one game out of an 18 game season. Too much focus on one loss could blur the season. That would be not only wrong but tragic. Put it all into perspective and learn from it, but don't make the same mistakes. The wall will hurt after awhile if you keep ramming your head into it; try a new way to get over it.
