One thing is true about professional sport; players must have a short memory. Dwelling on a play, a block or a game won't help. It will only cause you to lose focus on the task at hand. You must learn from and correct mistakes, quickly.

Losing our home opener was disappointing for many reasons. Our fans deserved better, our coaches deserved better, and we as players deserved better. Lucky for us it is a long season. As Ed Philion would always say; "It's a marathon not a sprint". We have to play better football in order to be successful in this league. The margin of difference between the teams is so small because talent is very well dispersed.

We face some tough tasks ahead. The next five games are against Eastern Division teams, with three of them on the road. This will be a challenge, but I think it will give us an indication as to what type of team we have. Great teams have to rise to the occasion and fight through the adversity. We have an opportunity to put ourselves atop our division, an opportunity we cannot let slip away.
